Strong action yesterday in Syracuse! Members of the Workers’ Center of CNY, United We Dream, CNY Solidarity Coalition, community members, and allies delivered 500+ signatures to Congressman John Katko’s office in support of a Clean Dream Act, DACA, and Undocumented People everywhere. We ran into some opposition from security in the lobby of the Mackenzie Hughes Tower, where we were yelled at from the moment we walked through the door, threatened with police, reminded “the federal government is heavily armed,” and one of our group members was assaulted by building staff. In the end, the general manager escorted three members of our group, including a mother and child, to deliver our petition to Katko’s office.
